In the budget allotted to us, only Arkeia was able to meet our requirements. Arkeia was better placed both financially and in terms of operating under Linux.

Thanks to Arkeia Network Backup and Arkeia Disaster Recovery, we are now able to do daily, fully automated back-ups on Windows NT, Windows 2000, UNIX SCO and Linux Red Hat clients. Data volume varies between 200-500 GB per site, depending on the backup mode -- full or incremental. We have entirely resolved the different issues generated by our headquarters and branch offices.

I am a reseller solutions provider and first learned of Arkeia during a corporate LAN installation for a new client. Initially we had purchased a competitor's enterprise backup solution, but during product installation many issues surfaced concerning platform compatibility. We now found ourselves without a backup solution at the 11th hour! After intensive research I came across the Arkeia website. At first it was hard to believe that I might possibly have located an even better backup solution for my clients needs, but since Arkeia offers full trial evaluation of their products, it was easy enough to download and test the product. I contacted your staff and received prompt, courteous and professional assistance. During installation of the Arkeia Server Backup product, the process went without incident and was quickly completed. The well written support and user guides also allowed configuration to proceed quickly.
End result - the Arkeia products work, and they work well!
Anyone who is familiar with the interface complexities of other, well known enterprise backup solutions, will appreciate the simplicity of the Arkeia user interface after just a brief period using the product.

We have found Arkeia Server Backup reliable and easy to use, both from a backup and restoration standpoint. We are using it to back up two SuSE Linux 9.2 servers running Lotus Domino, one of which contains mail files and the other with many different databases.
We back up all Lotus databases and program files each night, totaling about 20GB per server. The other Linux backup solutions we tried out were awkward and had user interfaces that looked like something out of the 1980s.

Generally speaking, we are very happy with Arkeia as our backup solution. Our configuration covers 3 Linux hosts, including a backup server ... a storage server ... and my workstation
The MySQL plug-in backs up our database used for web-development and intranet websites. It is quite comfortable for me as a developer to be able to perform backup on the running database in case I messed something up in the development tables.
The main aspect I like about Arkeia is the good multi-platform support. It's running perfectly fine on our Linux machines but I can be sure that I could integrate any BSD, Solaris, Mac OS X or Windows host into the backup process should it become necessary.
Additionally - though the user interface is very intuitive - there is a command line version which I really appreciate every time I have to do some administrative work from home.
Another good thing is that the people at Arkeia always seem very friendly and forthcoming to their customers requests.

Since installing Arkeia, we have streamlined and consolidated our Linux backup requirements from MySQL and PostgreSQL to large ext3 based file systems.
We have found the periodic backups to be fast and reliable. Once the system is configured we don't have to touch it; The system emails us the status of the backup! The client/server architecture allows us to administer our remote backups with ease.
The MySQL HotBackup plugin was a breeze to install and works flawlessly. We can browse the databases and tables just like a file system, all organised by the date the backup was performed. Managing the backup in this manner is great and the integration into Arkeia is seamless.
We use the Arkeia MySQL HotBackup plugin to back up over 1,000 databases in around 35 minutes!

Ontec Software Solutions GmbH has used Arkeia Network Backup for more than three years and it has become an important part of our infrastructure. Its scalability and reliability match our high expectations. Arkeia is perfect for our Windows Servers and servers with various Linux distributions, as well as different versions of Oracle databases. We recently upgraded to Arkeia 5 without any problems and are satisfied by the fact that it protects us from data loss.

Arkeia has lived up to our expectations. They offered the best solution for our advanced system, which needed backup software able to cope with the enormous file system we have here.
In addition, because the volume of data is continuously growing, Arkeia is easily expandable when the time comes to upgrade our tape library to increase storage capacity.
The back up software achieves extremely fast backup speeds using Multi-Plexing/Multi-Streaming, with simultaneous read/write access to as many as 32 tape drives per backup job and can manage simultaneous, multiple backup and restore operations.
The modular structure allows us to add functions like Arkeia's fully automatic disaster recovery module, which lets us restore our server, even if the machine was stolen or destroyed.
